Flow Path Glossary
This glossary contains the most important terms related to Flow Path and helps you better understand the application and its functions.
| Term | Description |

| Flow Path | Extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central that allows tasks, questions, and information to be documented, distributed, and tracked directly to business processes. |
| Flow Path Entry | An entry created for a Business Central record. It can be a task, a question, or information. |
| Record Reference | Linking a Flow Path entry to a Business Central record, such as a sales invoice or an order. |
| Task | An entry that assigns a specific activity to a user or user group and tracks it until completion. |
| Question | An entry that requests an answer or decision. The recipient answers the question directly in Flow Path. |
| Information | An entry for the targeted dissemination of important information. Recipients acknowledge receipt; no further action is required. |
| Recipient | User or user group to whom a Flow Path entry is assigned for processing, answering, or acknowledgment. |
| Critical Entry | An entry marked as critical. Depending on module configuration, it can block approval, posting, or printing processes until the entry is completed. |
| Catalog | Collection of predefined tasks, questions, or information. Catalogs speed up the creation of recurring individual entries. |
| Template | Compilation of several predefined catalog entries including recipients. Templates are suitable for recurring processes, such as onboarding. |
| Flow Path Info FactBox | Area on a Business Central page that displays related Flow Path entries and their status. New entries can also be created from here. |
| Flow Path History FactBox | Area on the entry page that makes the processing history, status changes, comments, and creator of an entry traceable. |
| Role Center | Central entry point for working with Flow Path. Tiles display, among other things, open, overdue, critical, and completed entries. |
| Absence and Representation | Period during which a user is unavailable. A designated representative can be considered for new entries. |
| Flow Path Administrator | User with extended permissions to set up Flow Path as well as to manage user groups, catalogs, templates, and email templates. |
