Question Template
With a question template, multiple recurring questions can be summarized in a template and provided together. Unlike a question catalog, where individual questions are selected, a template can combine multiple questions and directly assign them to the respective recipients.
This allows for the standardization of frequently recurring polls and inquiries. The creation of new Flow Path entries is accelerated, manual effort is reduced, and it is ensured that all necessary questions are assigned to the correct users or user groups.
Setting Up a Question Template
Follow these steps to create a question template:
- Start in the Flow Path Administrator Role Center.
- Navigate to Catalogs and Templates in the menu bar and select the Question Template menu item.
- Click on + New to create a new question template.
- Assign a Code for the question template. This serves for the unique identification of the template. Optionally, you can also provide a description.
- Navigate to the Flow Path Questions section.
- In the Catalog Code column, select a question catalog. You can combine questions from different question catalogs in one template.
- In the Catalog Line Number column, select the question you previously stored in the selected question catalog.
- The Critical column indicates whether the selected question has been marked as critical in the question catalog.
- Select a Recipient Type. As a recipient, you can either specify a single user or a user group.
- Depending on the selected recipient type, either the available users or the established user groups will be displayed for selection.
Once you have completed the creation of the question template, you can leave the page.
Tip
You can create as many question templates for different use cases as you like. This allows for the standardization of frequently recurring questions, including the associated recipients, which reduces the effort of data collection and ensures consistent processing.

Removing a Question Template
Question templates can be deleted at any time, as they merely serve as a compilation of questions from one or more question catalogs. Deleting a question template does not remove the underlying question catalogs or the questions contained within them.
This allows for the easy deletion of templates that are no longer needed, without losing already defined questions or existing catalogs. This keeps management clear, and the reusable questions remain available for other templates or processes.
Follow these steps to delete a question template:
- Start in the Flow Path Administrator Role Center.
- Navigate to Catalogs and Templates in the menu bar and select the Question Templates menu item.
- Select the question template you want to delete.
- Click on the Delete action.
- Confirm the warning message that appears.
The question template will now be deleted. The questions stored in the associated question catalogs will remain unchanged.
Removing a Question from a Question Template
Individual questions can be removed from a question template at any time. The questions in the underlying question catalog will remain intact.
Follow these steps to delete a question from a question template:
- Start in the Flow Path Administrator Role Center.
- Navigate to Catalogs and Templates in the menu bar and select the Question Templates menu item.
- Select the question template from which you want to remove a question.
- Navigate to the Questions section and mark the question you want to delete.
- Click on the Delete Row action.
- Confirm the subsequent message with Yes to remove the selected question from the template.
The question will be removed from the question template. You can then leave the page.
Information
If the question template has already been used for Flow Path entries, those entries will remain unchanged. The question will only be removed from the template and will not be available for future uses of the question template.
