Quick Start
Phone Connect can be implemented and activated very quickly. This enables a fast return on investment. Phone Connect offers a high degree of customization through its configuration. Many areas can be individually adjusted, and processes can be managed with a single setup. However, the goal of Simova products is to make the start as simple and fast as possible.
The following steps must be completed to quickly get started with Phone Connect.
- Install Phone Connect from the App Source.
- Follow the checklist steps in the Phone Connect Admin Role Center.
- Install the Phone Connect Tray application.
- Configure the Phone Connect Tray application.
Installation from the AppSource Catalog
Phone Connect can be directly installed in Business Central through the AppSource Apps. Follow these steps to install Phone Connect via the extension marketplace.
- Navigate to the extension marketplace in Business Central through the search.
- Enter Phone Connect in the search field on the right.
- The Phone Connect extension will appear in the search results.
- Click the Free Trial button.
- Fill out the required information and click Next.
- Choose your preferred language and click Install.
- The Phone Connect extension will be installed.
Running the Checklist
Phone Connect offers a guided experience for quick setup. The guided experience provides a checklist that can be completed in just a few minutes. Assign yourself the role of Phone Connect Administrator to complete the checklist steps.
Follow these steps to assign the Phone Connect Administrator role:
- Click on the settings icon and select My Settings.
- Change the role to Phone Connect - Administrator and click OK.
- Business Central will reload, and the Phone Connect Admin Role Center should appear.
The checklist will appear at the top of the Phone Connect Admin Role Center and includes the following items. Each item can be completed step by step and checked off when finished, allowing you to easily track which tasks have been successfully completed.

License Your Phone Connect
A license must be activated to use Phone Connect. The following steps guide you through the licensing process:
- Click Start in the checklist for the Phone Connect Licensing step to begin the licensing wizard.
- On the welcome page, click Start to begin the wizard.
- To use Phone Connect, please read the Privacy Policy and the End User License Agreement.
- Accept the terms by checking the box "I accept the terms".
- Click Next.
- Enter your license details in the fields "Customer Number" and "Activation Key" or start a trial by clicking Start Trial.
- Click Next.
- Add the users you want to license for Phone Connect by selecting users by their User ID and clicking Activate.
- Click Next.
- Choose a contact person for Phone Connect by their User ID and click Next.
- Complete the wizard by clicking Finish.

If you start a trial, you will need to enter relevant company information on the next screen to proceed successfully. Some of this information will be automatically pulled from your Business Central environment. The trial allows you to use Phone Connect for 30 days and activate up to 5 users during this period.
Set Up Your Phone Connect
The following steps must be completed to set up Phone Connect:
- Click Start in the checklist for the Phone Connect Setup step to start the setup wizard.
- On the welcome page, click Start to go through the wizard.
- Enter your interface. You can choose between TAPI and Microsoft Teams.
- If you chose TAPI, configure the prefix for your phone system.
- Click Next.
- Enable CRM Integration if you want to automatically create interaction log entries for your calls.
- Click Next.
- Adjust number substitution.
- Complete the wizard by clicking Finish.
Create an App Registration
- Click Start in the checklist for the App Registration step to begin the app registration wizard.
- On the welcome page, click Start to go through the wizard.
- Choose Create New App Registration.
- Click Next.
- Select your Microsoft account.
- Click Next.
- Enter a name for the app registration.
- Click Next.
- Grant consent for the app registration.
- Complete the wizard by clicking Finish.
Install the Phone Connect Tray
To install the Phone Connect Tray, follow these steps:
- Click Start in the checklist for the Install Phone Connect Tray step.
- On the welcome page, click Start to begin the installation.
- After the tray is downloaded, click Phone Connect Tray Setup.exe.
- Select your preferred language.
- Click Next.
- Create a desktop shortcut.
- Complete the wizard by clicking Finish.
Smart Connect
With Smart Connect, the Phone Connect Tray can be quickly and easily configured directly from Business Central. To use Smart Connect, follow these steps:
- Click Start in the checklist for the Smart Connect step.
- On the welcome page, click Start to begin Smart Connect.
- Right-click the tray icon on your screen and select Smart Connect.
- Copy the connection number that is now displayed.
- Paste the connection number into the Smart Connect wizard in Business Central.
- Click Next.
- Choose your Tray Interface and preferred Language.
- Enable Autostart.
- Click Next.
- If you chose TAPI, you can enter your TAPI number here.
- Complete the Smart Connect wizard by clicking Finish.
