Setting up a Product License
Initial License Activation
If a Simova Product has not yet been licensed, the licensing page will open as soon as an attempt is made to navigate to an area of the Simova Product. The following steps need to be completed to license the product:
- Open the Setup of your product and execute the License action.
- The product license page will open.
- Execute the Activate action in the ribbon bar to open the licensing wizard.
- Follow the instructions in the licensing wizard.
- Relevant information will be transferred to the Simova license server as part of the licensing process.
- The licensing process is completed.
Info
- The necessary information transmitted in the licensing process will only be used for the purpose of product licensing and will not be forwarded to other third parties.
- Please fill in the relevant data in the contact dialogue when starting a trial license.
- The type of activated license is displayed in the status area (Licensed, Not Licensed, Licensed (Test), Trial, Expired).
Change license
If a Simova Product has already been licensed, the licensing can be changed at any time. The following steps need to be completed to change the license.
- Open the Setup of your product and execute the License action.
- The product license page will open.
- Execute the Change action in the ribbon bar to open the licensing wizard.
- Follow the instructions in the licensing wizard.
- Relevant information will be transferred to the Simova licence server as part of the licensing process.
- The licensing process is completed.
License Management
The License Management page provides an overview of all active licenses for the selected product. The License Management Page allows you to reset the license, increase or decrease the number of user licenses for a license, and view the license details.
To access the License Management page, complete the following steps:
- Open the Setup of your product and select the action License.
- The product license page will open.
- Select the action License Management in the ribbon bar.
How to Reset a Product License
The Reset function allows you to reset your license once a day to reactivate it.
Steps to Reset a Product License
- Ensure you are on the License Management page.
- Select the license you want to reset.
- Select the action Reset in the ribbon bar.
Info
- Resetting is documented by us and is allowed only once per day per license.
- You can also reset the currently active license by selecting the Reset action on the Product License Page.
Warning
If the currently active license is reset, the license information will be cleared. This means the license will be displayed as Not Licensed. To reactivate the license, it must be activated again.
How to Increase/Decrease the Number of User Licenses
The number of user licenses for a license can be increased or decreased through the Edit User Count Card page. There are two ways to access the Edit User Count Card page.
Option 1: Access through the License Page
- Open the Setup of your product and select the License action.
- The product license page will open.
- Select the action Edit User Count in the ribbon bar.
Option 2: Access through the License Management Page
- Open the Setup of your product and select the License action.
- The product license page will open.
- Select the action License Management in the ribbon bar.
- Select the license for which you want to increase or decrease the number of user licenses.
- Select the action Edit User Count in the ribbon bar.
How to Increase the Number of User Licenses
To increase the number of user licenses for a license, follow these steps:
- Select the action Increase User Count in the ribbon bar.
- A dialog will open with an explanation of the process.
- Enter the number of user licenses to increase in the field Increase by.
- Confirm the dialog by clicking Yes.
- A confirmation dialog will open, asking you to confirm the increase in user licenses.
- Confirm the dialog by entering CONFIRM in the field and clicking OK.
Warning
The number of user licenses for a license will be increased immediately after confirmation.
How to Decrease the Number of User Licenses
To decrease the number of user licenses for a license, follow these steps:
- Select the action Decrease User Count in the ribbon bar.
- A dialog will open with an explanation of the process.
- Enter the number of user licenses to decrease in the field Decrease by.
- Confirm the dialog by clicking Yes.
- A confirmation dialog will open, asking you to confirm the decrease in user licenses.
- Confirm the dialog by entering CONFIRM in the field and clicking OK.
Info
The number of users cannot be reduced during the 12-month mandatory license period.
Warning
The number of user licenses for a license will decrease in the next billing cycle after confirmation.
Cancel the Decrease of User Licenses
To cancel the decrease of user licenses for a license, follow these steps:
- Ensure you are on the Edit User Count Card page.
- Select the action Cancel User Decrease Order in the ribbon bar.
- A dialog will open asking you to confirm the cancellation of the decrease in user licenses.
Info
The decrease in user licenses will also be canceled if you attempt to increase the user licenses.
Warning
The decrease in user licenses will be canceled immediately after confirmation.
