News

In the news section of the dashboard, current information and news are presented clearly. The entries briefly inform about new products, availability, or important updates and allow for a quick overview right when opening the portal.

Configuring News

To configure news, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the search icon in the upper right corner .
  2. Search for Business Portals – Datasets and open the page.
  3. Select the dataset for which you want to configure news.
  4. Perform the action Dashboard Groups on the newly opened dataset page.
  5. Create a new row or select an existing row. For more information on setting up a dashboard, see this documentation.
  6. To assign the news type to the item, select it via the Item View Style field.
  7. To assign a dataset, select it via the Dataset Table Code field. If no datasets are visible, read this documentation on setting up a dataset table for news.
  8. On the page, there is a FactBox named Web Content. If this is not visible, click on the info icon in the upper right corner.
  9. Choose a suitable title for your News Area in the Label field.
  10. Navigate to the News section.
  11. Fill the Title Field with the field Title selected in the dataset.
  12. Fill the Description field with any field, e.g., Category or Creation Date. This information will appear in the Business Portals directly under the title.
  13. Fill the Content Field with the field Content selected in the dataset.
  14. Choose a suitable label for the Learn More field, e.g., Learn More.
  15. Additional setup options are available in this area.

Metadata for News

In the General section, you can define the basic properties of the news:

  • Caption: Specifies the title of the news.
  • Subtitle: Specifies the subtitle of the news.
  • CSS Class - Content: Specifies a custom CSS class for formatting the content.
  • CSS Class - Header: Specifies a custom CSS class for formatting the header.

News Options

In the News section, you can configure additional properties:

  • Title Field: Sets the title of the news. This field is selected in the dataset and can then be selected here.
  • Description Field: Sets additional information. This field is selected in the dataset and can then be selected here.
  • Content Field: Sets the content of the news. This field is selected in the dataset and can then be selected here.
  • Image Assignment: Specifies which image assignment should be used to display it in the news area in Business Portals.
  • Show Image Placeholder: Specifies whether the image from the image assignment should be displayed as a placeholder.
  • News Count: Specifies how many news items are displayed at once in Business Portals.
  • Read More: Specifies whether a defined text should be displayed on hover.
