Setting up Custom Report Layout Usage
Report Layout configuration
In the Document Dispatch Profiles you will find different options to set up the usage of the custom report layouts within the attachment of the type report. For more information on the general usage of custom report layots regarding Document Dispatch, please visit Utilizing Report Layouts. In case an own custom report table is used, please go to Setting Up Individual Custom Report Table.
To configure the available options in the attachments of a dispatch profile there are two different options explained in the following.
Defining a main report as basis for the sending
In the attachments of type Report in the Document Dispatch profiles there is a field called Main Report. With this field you can control which report is used as the basis for the sending. This is only important if document layouts are actually used. In case multiple lines are created with this report number in the document layouts the according number of queue entries will be created when sending this dispatch profile. This value does not have to checked in case of a singulary report line for a dispatch profile.

- This option can be set only once for a dispatch profile attachment.
- The dispatch profile attachment to be set must not contain a dynamic mapping code.
When sending a report via Document Dispatch, if there are two attachments with the type report, the configured main report will be used to evaluate the number of queue entries to be created. That means if e.g. there are two lines for the report Invoice defined in the document layouts, the two queue entries will be created in case the invoice has been defined as main report in the Document Dispatch profile attachments.
In the event of multiple report lines for multiple report IDs in the custom reports of a master data, the main report will fetch the different report layouts defined for the document layout, while a secondary non main report attached will use the first report layout found with the Report ID. Otherwise the default report layout will be used.
If the Use document Layout Email field is defined for the report, the document layouts will be checked to see if the same email is also configured for non-main report attachments. If it is, the report layout of the found entry will be used. Otherwise, the first report layout will be used for the document layout.
The following steps need to be completed to set the main report in case of multiple report attachments:
- We start in the Document Dispatch - Administrator role.
- Open Dispatch Profiles from the Setup menu in the ribbon bar and execute Dispatch Profiles
- Select the Dispatch Profile where you want to define that the emails will be used from the document layout.
- Enter the Line Dispatch Profile Attachment and Select a attachment that has no dynamic mapping code defined and is of type report.
- Check the checkbox Main report.
Using the Email Adresses defined in the Custom Report Layouts
In the dispatch profile attachments you will find the field called Use document Layout Email. With this field you can control whether the report should use the email addresses from the document layouts.

The following steps need to be completed to set up the use of the email defined in an document layout.
- We start in the Document Dispatch - Administrator role.
- Open Dispatch Profiles from the Setup menu in the ribbon bar and execute Dispatch Profiles
- Select the Dispatch Profile where you want to define that the emails will be used from the document layout.
- Enter the Line Dispatch Profile Attachment and Select a attachment that has no dynamic mapping code defined and is of type report.
- Check the checkbox Use document Layout Email.
Info
- If there are email addresses for the document layout set up, then the email addresses are used. If there are document layouts defined without an email Document Dispatch will use the email it would find anyway based on the Document Dispatch configuration
- The Name of used Layouts will be saved in the Document Dispatch Queue Attachments so that faulty data can be found way easier.
