Quick Start Business Portals App
With the Business Portals App, external users can access the content shared with them in their Business Portal. This guide prepares access in Business Central, sets up the app on a mobile device, and checks the initial access.
Enable App View
In addition to the regular portal view, an app view optimized for mobile browsers is available. This has been designed for use on smartphones and tablets and can be used as an alternative to the Business Portals App.
Follow these steps to enable the app view:
- Open the Business Portals Admin role center.
- Select Setup to open the Module Setup.
- Open the App Settings section.
- Enable Enable App View.
Import Default Configuration
A default configuration is provided for the Mobile Dashboard. However, this should only be used if the portal has not yet been set up according to your individual requirements.
Please note that the Mobile Dashboard cannot be imported separately from the Web Dashboard. Therefore, when importing the default configuration, the associated Web Dashboard configurations and datasets will also be included.
- Start as a Business Portals Admin in the role center.
- Click on Import/Export in the menu bar and open the Configuration Wizard.
- Start the wizard by clicking Start.
- Select the action Import.
- Specify Online as the source.
- Click Next and select Business Portals on the next page.
- Select Demo Configuration - Cronus on the next page.
- Click OK.
Attention
Importing the demo configuration may overwrite already individually configured areas, dashboards, and datasets.
If you do not wish to import a default configuration, you can find more information on manually setting up a Mobile Dashboard on the page Setting up the Mobile Dashboard.
