Module Setup

The Phone Connect Module Setup is used to configure Phone Connect. This configuration can only be made by users with the permissions SIM_CTI Admin or SUPER.

General

Interface Selection

In Phone Connect, you can choose between two interfaces:

Interface Description
TAPI TAPI enables the integration of telephone systems via the Telephony API.
Teams Microsoft Teams enables seamless integration of telephony functions within Teams.

Prefix Configuration

This section configures the prefix that Phone Connect should use.

Warning

The configuration may vary depending on the telephone system. If in doubt, please contact your phone system support.

Incoming Prefix

In rare cases, the telephone system may add a leading zero (or another prefix) to the transmitted numbers. If this is the case for your telephone system, enter this number as the incoming prefix. A common example of this is the "0".

Outgoing Prefix

The outgoing prefix in a telephone system is a special number or combination of numbers placed before the actual phone number to access the outside line. It is often used to differentiate between internal and external calls. For example, many companies use "0" as the outgoing prefix to indicate that the call is going outside.

Country Code & Area Code

The country code and area code must be entered in the corresponding fields. For Germany, the country code 0049 is required. After entering the country and area codes, the phone numbers must be trimmed with the corresponding action.

Internal Calls

With the Internal Call Number field, it is possible to simulate that phone numbers which have the digit length specified in the field, or are shorter than the specified digit length, are recognized as internal calls.

Phone Connect counts the digits from right to left and checks how many digits have been specified and whether they match the internal numbers.

  • If the Search for internal calls in the database field is activated, the contact card of the caller will open for an internal call.
  • However, if the Exclude internal calls from the database field is activated, no caller card will be displayed for internal calls.

Warning

External calls may be mistakenly recognized as internal calls if they have a digit length too high for internal calls.

CRM Integration

Phone Connect offers a CRM Integration, which logs interaction records for incoming and outgoing calls. This feature must be enabled in the module setup to capture interaction records.

App Registration

The App Registration tab shows whether the app registration is correctly configured. For using Phone Connect in Microsoft Teams, App Registration is mandatory.

Callbacks

In the Callbacks tab, Callback Requests for sales quotes can be enabled. Once this option is enabled, a callback request will automatically be generated when creating a sales quote. The callback date will automatically be set to the due date of the sales quote.

Policies

Here, Call Policies can be configured.
