Installation of the Outlook Add-in
Document Central Link can be Installed via the Appsource or Manually via an Manifest file. Admin permissions are required
Installation via the Appsource
- Go to appsource.microsoft.com
- Search for Document Central Link
- Click on Get it Now
- Select how you want to deploy the app on the following page.
- On the following page you will be asked to accept the permissions request(The permissions required by Document Central Link are explained below).
- On the next page click on Finish deployment to finish the deployment.
Manual Installation
- Go to admin.microsoft.com
- Click on Upload custom apps.
- Select the App type Office Add-in.
- In the step Choose how to upload app select Upload manifest file (.xml) from device and select the manifest file provided.
- Select how you want to deploy the app on the following page.
- On the following page you will be asked to accept the permissions request(The permissions required by Document Central Link are explained below).
- On the next page click on Finish deployment to finish the deployment.
Additional permission grant
On the first startup, Document Central Link will try to open an pop up. This is due to a missing permission for Business centrals API's. Accept to open an external window and grant the permission requested on the following page. After you have granted the permission, reopen the Document Central Link Outlook addin.
Select Environment and Company
After Document Central Link has all suiting permission's, you can continue to select the environment and company, Document Inbound is installed in. You only have to do this step once, Document Central Link will remember your configuration. Users can also only access environemnts and companies they have access to. If an error message states that "The Document Central Link feature is not enabled in this environment. Please contact your administrator." appears, follow the steps in Feature activation to activate Document Central Link. After these steps you should be able to use Document Link, if you want to confgure a mapping to upload a document, please follow the steps in Setting up a Mapping.
Permissions

Business-central - API.ReadWrite.All:
- Grants full access to the Business Central web services APIs. These APIs provide the capability to call web services APIs and modify Business Central data. Document Central Link needs this permission to communicate with business central and upload document to Document Central.

Microsoft Graph - offline_access:
- Allows the app to see and update the data you gave it access to, even when you are not currently using the app. This does not give the app any additional permissions.

Microsoft Graph - profile
- Allows the app to see your basic profile (e.g., name, picture, user name, email address). This information is used to upload the data in the user context.
