Microsoft Teams Setup

CTI by Simova now makes it possible to integrate Microsoft Teams and it can be integrated into your infrastructure very quickly and easily. With the integration of Microsoft teams it is now also possible to distinguish the calling user, if the call comes from a Microsoft Teams user.

If CTI by Simova is already set up, you can use this guide to integrate it afterwards. If this is not the case and CTI by Simova is newly installed, you can integrate Microsoft Teams directly by working through the checklist. In addition, there are further setup options in the general settings of the tray app and an additional area for Microsoft Teams.

In order to be able to complete this setup for Microsoft Teams, the CTI Tray App must be installed.

There is a setup in the contact card/customer card that allows you to specify the Microsoft Teams name that will be responsible for the assignment of the call via the name.

How to set up Microsoft Teams for the Tray App

The following steps need to be performed to set up Microsoft Teams for the CTI Tray app.

  1. Start in the CTI by Simova - Administrator role.
  2. Open the CTI - Module Setup.
  3. Select Microsoft Teams as interface in the general setup.
  4. Navigate back to the role center.
  5. Open the Smart Connect wizard by expanding the setup in the ribbon bar.
  6. To get the connection key, click on the small arrow in the right lower corner and do a right click on the CTI Tray icon to expand the options and select Smart Connect.
  7. Copy the connection key and enter it in the Smart Connect wizard.
  8. After entering the connection key, click on Connect to connect with the CTI Tray app and then click on Next.
  9. In this step, the OAuth data is displayed for authentication. Click on**Next** to perform the general setup for the CTI Tray app.
  10. Select Microsoft Teams as interface in the general configuration.
  11. Complete the remaining configuration and then click on Next.
  12. Choose a theme for the CTI Tray app and then click on Next.
  13. Select whether calls should be excluded or not. If calls should be excluded choose between the two options Microsoft Teams and Internal. Click Next to proceed to the finishing step.
  14. The configuration for the CTI Tray app with Microsoft Teams has been completed successfully. To apply the configuration, please click Finish.
