Module Setup

CTI by Simova needs to be set up in some area. Some setups aren't provided with the setup wizard because these are individual for each environment.

The following steps need to be performed to set up the CTI Module.

Implementation of the general setup

  1. Open the Business Central client.
  2. Choose the image icon, enter the Simova Apps | CTI - Administrator role.
  3. In the CTI - Administrator role center, you have to navigate to the Open Module Setup
  4. When you open the CTI Setup for the first time, you will be asked if you want to set up your user account as CTI Administrator.
  5. Confirm the message with Yes.
  6. After being registered as an administrator, you can carry out all necessary settings in the register General.
  7. Outgoing and incoming prefix. Usually the telephone system expects a 0 i.e. for an outgoing call.

    The setup of the incoming and outgoing prefix depends on the configuration of your telephone system and has to be requested from the telephone system service.

  8. Country code and Area code in the corresponding fields.

  9. If your Tapi interface does not pass on information for internal calls, you can specify the number of digits of the phone number for internal calls at this point so that these are recognized.
  10. If for an internal call the contact shall be searched in the database, the checkbox Search for internal call in database has to be activated. Then the caller card of the contact will be opened as an internal call is incoming.

    The internal caller has to be maintained with the current interal telephone number.

  11. For internal calls the contact information is primary searched in the contact list. If no suitable contact is found, it can alternatively be searched for the contact information in the customer or vendor list. Herefore, the order of the alternative search can be fixed: Choose i.e. the option customer-vendor, if you first want to search through the customer and then through the vendor list. The specification of the searching order accelerates the search of contact information.

  12. Via the following three checkboxes; Ignore contacts, Ignore customers and Ignore vendors the search of contact information in the contact, customer and vendor list can be deactivated.
  13. In the next register, Pages, the Object IDs of the contact, customer and vendor cards have to be entered.

The default objects ID for the contact card is 5050, for the customer card 21 and for the vendor card 23.
