Migration of old Document Capture Data to Document Central

We are excited to announce the release of the Document Central to DC - Migration of old Document Capture Data to Document Central feature. This enhancement is designed to streamline the transition of your document management system, ensuring that all historical data from Document Capture is seamlessly migrated to Document Central. This migration not only preserves your valuable data but also optimizes your document management process by consolidating all your documents into a single, more efficient platform.

How it works

  • 📄 Document Capture Attachment Migration Wizard: A new tool that facilitates the migration of files from Document Capture to Document Central.
  • 🔄 Migration Options: Choose the types of files to migrate, such as PDF, EML, XML, images (PNG/JPG), and other attachments.
  • 🔍 Source Filtering: Filter the documents to be migrated based on document range, type, vendor, and posting status.
  • 🗑️ Post-Transfer Behavior: Decide whether to delete the file from Document Capture after a successful transfer, keep it, or perform a cleanup to remove orphaned or duplicated BLOBs.
  • ⚙️ Functional Flow:
  • Transfer files using Document Central for DC configuration.
  • Option to only delete files that are not necessary
  • Write detailed log in excel to see which documents where uploaded.
  • 📊 Technical Considerations:
  • Support for large files.
  • Correct MIME type mapping, including handling EML files with attachments.

This feature ensures a smooth and efficient migration of your documents, helping you maintain data integrity and improve overall document management efficiency. We are confident that this enhancement will significantly benefit your operations and provide a seamless transition to Document Central.

Upgrade Step to Change Product Name in Core#12251

This release introduces a key update to our Document Central for DC users. The product name in the CORE Product table has been changed from DMS to DC, to Document Central for DC, providing a more accurate and intuitive naming convention for our users.

New DMS to DC Dependencies#11401

We have updated the dependency for the DMS to DC connector to support the latest version of Document Capture. The previous version, "Document Capture 365", is no longer in use and was changed to "Document Capture".

Fixed and improved

Import of Attachments with Azure Blob Storage does not work#18490

Description: Resolved an issue in Document Capture where, when using DMS to DC with ABS as storage, only XML and EML files from registered documents were imported to document inbound instead of all configured document types and attachments.

Impact: All configured documents and their attachments are now correctly imported to document inbound, ensuring complete document processing and eliminating missing files in the capture workflow.

importing a ZUGFeRD-file does not upload the PDF (only XML and EML)#18310

Description: Resolved an issue where leading PDFs from ZUGFeRD emails were not imported by the Document Capture Connector into Document Central, even when PDF import was configured. The connector now correctly registers and uploads the associated PDF alongside the EML and XML files.

Impact: Users relying on ZUGFeRD-based document processing now receive complete document sets in Document Central, ensuring that PDFs are consistently available for review and downstream processes. This fix improves data completeness and reliability without requiring configuration changes.

Document Central for DC upgrade fails with “Record Already Exists” Error#17676

Description:

Resolved an issue where upgrading or reinstalling the “Document Central for DC” extension from version 27.0.5.0 to 27.0.7.0 failed due to a conflicting existing record in the Module Setup table. The upgrade logic was adjusted to correctly handle existing setup records and prevent deployment errors.

Impact:

Users can now successfully upgrade or reinstall the “Document Central for DC” extension without deployment failures caused by Module Setup conflicts. This ensures a smoother update process and maintains data integrity without requiring manual cleanup of existing records.

Permission Error on Posting "Purchase Invoices"#17163

Description: Resolved an issue where users with SIM_CORE USER and SIM_DMS USER permissions encountered an error message when posting a purchase invoice, despite the posting process completing successfully and all items being created correctly. This fix ensures that the error message no longer appears, providing a smoother user experience.

Impact: Users will no longer see an error message when posting purchase invoices, leading to a more intuitive and error-free workflow. This enhancement improves the overall usability and reliability of the system.

"Upload XML Attachments" does not work on PEPPOL files#17073

Description: Resolved an issue where embedded PDF attachments in Peppol files were not being extracted, uploaded, or displayed in Document Central. The system now correctly processes and uploads both the XML file and all embedded PDF attachments, ensuring they are visible in the FactBox and repository.

Impact: This fix ensures that all components of Peppol files, including embedded PDF attachments, are properly processed and displayed. Users will now have complete access to all relevant documents within Document Central, improving document management and accessibility.

Upload on Posting does not set the "SIM_DMSDC DC Doc. New" Field#16997

Description: Fixed an issue where the field "SIM_DMSDC DC Doc. New" was not being set correctly when using the Upload function for posting. This correction ensures that the field is now properly assigned as expected.

Impact: This fix resolves the problem of incorrect field settings, improving the reliability and accuracy of the data handling process. Users will experience more consistent and expected behavior when using the Upload function within the Connector.

Impact: Users will now be able to run the Migration wizard for posted purchase invoices without encountering errors, resulting in a smoother and more reliable migration process. This resolves the issue of no entries being migrated, enhancing the overall functionality and user experience.

Migration Wizard runs into error when using Posted Purchase Invoice or Credit Memo#16757

Description: Resolved an issue in the Document Capture to Document Central Migration process where selecting a Mapping for a Posted Purchase Invoice or Credit Memo would cause the migration to fail. The error was due to a missing key in the dictionary, which has now been addressed.

Impact: Users will now be able to successfully complete the migration process without encountering errors when selecting a Mapping for Posted Purchase Invoices or Credit Memos. This fix enhances the reliability and usability of the Document Central migration feature.

Wrong user permissions#14357
