As of: 03.09.2025 • Reading time: ~5 minutes
The billing for Smart Processing is completely transaction-based. There are no fixed monthly or annual license fees – instead, you only pay for the actions actually performed. This article describes the billing logic, the types of transactions, and how you can transparently view your consumption.
Billing and Pricing
- Billing is done per transaction.
- There are no fixed base fees or minimum purchases.
- Detailed pricing information can be found on the official Simova Pricing Page.
Note
If you have questions about billing, please contact your partner or use the contact options.
Consumption-Based Billing
Smart Processing only records transactions when certain actions are performed:
1. Classifying / Capturing
- A transaction is generated for each captured document.
- A distinction is made between XML standard documents and email documents.
2. Line Matching
- A transaction is only generated if the matching occurs automatically.
- No transaction is charged for a manual match.
3. Smart Master Data Creation
- Once a new record is created through Smart Master Data Creation, a transaction is booked.
Usage of External AI Services
In addition to Smart Processing transactions, costs are incurred for the use of external Azure AI Services (e.g., OpenAI, Document Intelligence, Content Understanding). The exact prices vary by service and region and can be calculated in the Azure Pricing Calculator.
Viewing Transactions
Here’s how to check your transactions:
- Open the Smart Processing Menu in your system.
- Select the desired function or module.
- Under Logs, you will find the recorded transactions.
Alternatively:
- In the Document Inbound Administrator Role Center, you will find the section Transaction Count and Forecast, which shows your current consumption as well as a forecast.
Summary
- Billing per transaction, no base fees.
- Three main transaction types: Classifying/Capturing, Line Matching (only automatic), Master Data Creation.
- External AI Services incur additional costs – calculable in the Azure Pricing Calculator.
- Full transparency through logs and role center overviews.
