Power BI Report Embedding with Imported Datasets

Released

Enhance your Business Portal with seamless Power BI report integration, providing visual, data-driven insights directly within the portal interface. Optimized for reports based on imported datasets, this feature leverages the Power BI REST API for generating embed tokens, ensuring reliability and simplicity. By supporting only reports without live connections or Row-Level Security, it avoids common token generation issues and simplifies configuration, reducing reliance on IT support. Enjoy native Power BI integration for a streamlined user experience without navigating outside the portal environment.

Ticket System Integration

The upcoming feature for Business Portals, an extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, is a comprehensive Ticket System. This new feature allows users to create and manage tickets linked to any record within Business Central or as standalone entries. Key functionalities include ticket creation and tracking, status management, visual representation through a dedicated interface and management dashboard, ticket categorization and priority assignment, user assignment, comment and activity logging, and attachments. It also introduces a notification system for ticket updates, search and filter options, SLA management, and customer portal integration. This feature enhances customer support, improves internal issue tracking, increases efficiency, boosts transparency, and reduces response times.

Configuration Unification

Introducing a streamlined configuration interface for portal settings in version 2.6. Users will now access a dedicated page within the module setup to manage dataset-independent configurations such as login screen captions, password regex, images, and required fields for registration. This enhancement eliminates the need for manual XML file editing, reducing the risk of errors and simplifying the process for non-technical users. Configurations will be automatically generated at portal startup, categorized into Authenticationconfig for base settings, Baseconfig for non-caption related configurations, and Captionconfigs for multilingual settings. Additionally, users can upload and download configuration files for easy migration. This update significantly improves maintainability, accelerates deployment cycles, and ensures consistency across portal environments.

Unified Calendar Integration

The upcoming feature introduces a dedicated calendar table in Business Portals to enhance the existing calendar functionality. This new table will allow events to be managed via event-based triggers, aggregating appointments from multiple data sources into a single calendar view. This feature also simplifies the setup process for the standard calendar, making it more user-friendly. The benefits include consolidated appointments from various sources, increased flexibility with multi-source event integration, simplified calendar setup and management, and dynamic calendar updates through event-driven actions.

Custom Button and Image Display on Login Page

The upcoming feature will enhance the Business Portals login page by enabling administrators to incorporate custom buttons or images that link to external resources. This functionality will facilitate quick access to relevant apps such as the Business Portals Mobile App or DPS Whitelabel App on their respective app stores. Additionally, it will allow the provision of general news or helpful links. This feature not only boosts user engagement but also supports marketing and user onboarding efforts by prominently displaying download links, thereby adding flexibility and customization to the Business Portals login experience.

Social Login Authentication

Introducing Social Login Authentication for Business Portals: This feature allows users to log in or sign up using their existing accounts from trusted providers like Google, Microsoft, and Facebook. It simplifies the login process, reduces password management, increases user trust, enhances onboarding and retention rates, and lowers support burden by minimizing password reset requests.
