Migration of documents from the BC Standard to Document Central
This feature allows customers to migrate documents stored using the Business Central attachment standard into Document Central. Migration can be done at the record level via the Document Central Factbox or in bulk through the Document Central Module Setup. Benefits include simplified migration, user flexibility in retaining or deleting migrated documents, enhanced traceability with migration logs, and improved efficiency for large datasets through bulk migration with mapping selection.

Dossier View
Introducing the Dossier View feature in Document Central, designed to significantly improve loading times within the Document Central Factbox. This enhancement establishes a direct link between Master Data and Document Central Documents, particularly beneficial on pages managing numerous documents. Configured via a Custom Field within the Field Mappings section, metadata values from Master Data, such as "Customer No.", are automatically populated. The Dossier View utilizes this Custom Field to efficiently filter documents, substantially reducing load times and optimizing document retrieval. This results in a streamlined user experience and increased efficiency through targeted filtering based on Master Data.

Background Processing and Retroactive Calculation of Hash Values
The upcoming feature involves the retroactive computation of hash values for all existing document entries in Document Central. This process will be executed in the background to maintain optimal performance given the potential volume of documents. A status dashboard will be introduced to track the progress of the hash value calculation. The feature will ensure consistency by assigning identical documents with matching content the same hash value. Although this version will not include automatic cleanup or deduplication, it lays the groundwork for future features such as deduplication and advanced integrity checks. This feature enhances document integrity validation and paves the way for new functionalities, providing transparent progress tracking for long-running background processes.

Introducing Configurable Metadata Indexing in Document Central
Administrators can now designate specific metadata fields for indexing, ensuring key values are stored in both the metadata table and a dedicated column in the Document Entry table. This makes crucial metadata instantly available for fast querying, sorting, and integration with features like multi-field “In Query” logic.
To preserve performance and scalability, the number of indexed fields is configurable and limited. Indexed metadata is also displayed in the page view and enables faster, more efficient document searches.

Project & Task Integration
