Tray Client Installation

The CTI Tray Application can only be installed manually. A silent installation is not supported.

The following steps have to be met:

  • For the installation, administrative rights for the installation of an application on the windows system have to be on disposal.
  • A supported, preconfigured TAPI interface has to be provided on the Windows System. In case there is no TAPI interface provided, the CTI Tray Application will not work.
  • During the CTI Tray Application installation the Client Add-Ins are stored in the Add-In directory of the Business Central Clients. Business Central Client should therefore be installed on the Windows System.

Manual Installation of the CTI Tray Application:

  1. Run the file Phone Connect Setup.exe in the Administration Mode. Herefore, right-click on the file and choose the option Run as Administrator.
  2. Then choose the desired Language to be displayed during the installation and click OK.
  3. On the welcome page click Next.
  4. On the RTC Add-In Ordner page choose the Add-In file from the Installation path of Microsoft Dynamics NAV via the Browse button and click Next.

    The predefined path C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\60\RoleTailored Client\Add-ins is the default installation path of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009. Please adjust the path for the entered Business Central Version.

  5. In the last step, activate the Create Desctop Symbol option and click Next.

  6. Start the installation by clicking Install.
  7. In order to start the CTI Tray Application after the installation, activate the option Start Phone Connect and finally click Finish.

The CTI Tray Application has been installed under the path C:\Programme (x86)\Simova GmbH\Phone Connect. Additionally the relevant Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central Add-Ins for the CTI integration under the chosen Add-In path will be installed.

The CTI Tray Application has to be installed separately on every Client System.

Silent Installation of the CTI Tray Application:

To do a silent installation of the CTI Tray Application, you have to use the following command line:

In this example, it is assumed that the setup/exe file is in the desktop, modify the path when necessary.

There are two variants, how to install the CTI Tray Application silently:

  1. The GUI will still be shown but no user interaction is needed.

        C:/Users/Username/Desktop/Phone Connect Setup.exe /SILENT
    

  2. The GUI will not be shown at all, the installation will be done in the background.

        C:/Users/Username/Desktop/Phone Connect Setup.exe /VERYSILENT
    

Opening the CTI Tray Application:

You can open the CTI application from the start menu. To open the CTI application, open the Phone Connect desktop app.

The CTI application starts minimized in the Tray area of your Windows taskbar.
