Restoring The RecordId of a Document Entry

Due to an issue in an older Document Central, some Document Entries may have lost their RecordID values. This can lead to problems when trying to reference or process these entries within the system.

for this case Document Central provides a way to restore the RecordID values for affected Document Entries.

to restore the RecordID values for Document Entries that have lost them, follow these steps:

Important

The Record ID restoration works only for Document Entries where the Source Document is still available in the connected document library.

Restoring RecordID Values for all Document Entries

  1. Navigate to the Document Central – Administrator role center.
  2. Click Documents in the ribbon bar and select Document Entries.
  3. Click on the Troubleshooting action group and execute the Restore RecordId action.
  4. Select All Document Entries in the dialog that appears and confirm the action.

The system will then process all Document Entries and attempt to restore the RecordID values for all Document Entries.

Restoring RecordID Values for Document Entries that have a missing RecordID

  1. Navigate to the Document Central – Administrator role center.
  2. Click Documents in the ribbon bar and select Document Entries.
  3. Click on the Troubleshooting action group and execute the Restore RecordId action.
  4. Select All Document Entries (Only Missing Record ID) in the dialog that appears and confirm the action.

The system will then process all Document Entries that have a missing RecordID and attempt to restore the RecordID values for them.

Restoring RecordID Values for Selected Document Entries

  1. Navigate to the Document Central – Administrator role center.
  2. Click Documents in the ribbon bar and select Document Entries.
  3. Select the Document Entries for which you want to restore the RecordID values.
  4. Click on the Troubleshooting action group and execute the Restore RecordId action.
  5. Select Selected Document Entries in the dialog that appears and confirm the action.

The system will then process the selected Document Entries and attempt to restore the RecordID values for them.
