Setting Up Contract Types

Contract Management allows organizations to classify and manage contracts by type. By defining Contract Types, users can categorize contracts (e.g., Service, Lease, Maintenance) for easier filtering, reporting, and governance.

Each contract type consists of a unique identifier and a descriptive label, ensuring consistency across the system.

Enabling Contract Types

To set up and manage Contract Types, follow these steps:

  1. In the Contract Management role center, click on Setup in the ribbon bar.
  2. Navigate to the Contract Types list.
  3. Create new entries or adjust existing ones as required.

Info

Contract Types act as a classification system. Each type must be unique, and the Type field serves as the primary identifier.

Using Contract Types

When creating or editing a contract, you can assign a Contract Type to ensure proper classification.

To assign a Contract Type:

  1. Open the desired Contract record.
  2. Locate the Contract Type field.
  3. Select the appropriate type from the predefined list.
  4. Save the contract.

This ensures that all contracts are consistently categorized.

Each Contract Type entry contains the following details:

  • Type – A unique identifier (primary key).
  • Description – A human-readable description of the contract type.
