Form
The style type Form allows the web user to input information. The data is displayed as a request in Business Central after submission and can be further processed there.

In order for a form to be used, it must always be associated with an action of type “Form Link”. This action is configured on the landing page and serves as the entry point for the form.
Typical use cases include general inquiries, master data changes, or similar communication processes.
Follow these steps to set up a form:
- Select the desired dataset in the dataset table or create a new dataset.
- Click on Web Content on the right and then click on Edit to start the configuration.
- Set the View Style to Form in the web content.
- You can set the width using the Column Span.
- Close the web content again.
- Choose a suitable label or create a new one.
- In the dataset table menu under Fields, select the fields that should be displayed in the form.
- Open the Detail Layout and group the fields into Collapses and Groups – as the information should be presented in the portal.
- Depending on what you are configuring a form for, you may need to set up filtering.
- You now need to set up an action for the Form.
