Setting Up Actions in Business Portals

Actions in the Business Portal enable the execution of specific functions directly from the user interface. They are designed to simplify processes and speed up access to important functions.

Actions are configured in the dataset table for the respective dataset. Each action is associated with a specific record and defines which function can be executed in the Business Portal, such as downloading documents or uploading files. By configuring in the dataset table, it ensures that actions are contextually available and directly linked to the corresponding data.

General Options

For the different Types, additional properties can be configured.

  • Show in Overview: The action will also be displayed in the list view.
  • Bypass basket: An order is created directly without creating an entry in the basket.
  • Execute instantly: The action is executed directly without creating an order or generating a cart entry.
  • Save action: With this option, you remain on the page after executing the action and can save values in the input fields.
  • Save only action: Suppresses the display and execution of the actual action and only shows a save button.
  • Navigation: After executing the action, it can be defined here which page should be displayed. Stay on the current page, show the basket, or navigate to the homepage.
  • CSS Class: Specifies a custom CSS class for formatting the action.
  • Edit Action Caption: Text of the edit button that is displayed when multiple actions have been defined.
  • Edit Action Icon: Icon of the edit button that is displayed when multiple actions have been defined.
  • Cancel Action Caption: Text of the cancel button that is displayed when in edit mode.
  • Cancel Action Icon: Icon of the cancel button that is displayed when in edit mode.
  • Dataset dependent: The action is fataset dependent and requires business partner or delivery informations.
